(Ecns.cn)--Madame Tussauds Hong Kong (HK) unveiled wax statues of popular cartoon characters McDull and his mom Madame Mak on July 20.
Fans can now "take tea" with them face to face. The wax figures will be exhibited permanently in the World Premiere Zone, where they sit at a Hong Kong-style cafeteria enjoying pineapple buns with butter, egg tarts and milk tea.
This is the very first for Madame Tussauds HK to create wax figures of original cartoon icons from Hong Kong, according to the museum's general manager Kelly Mak.
Famous Hong Kong actress Sandra Ng, who performs the voice of Madame Mak, and Alice Mak, the creator of McDull, appeared at the unveiling ceremony along with officials from Madame Tussauds and the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Children from the Children's Heart Foundation (CHF) charity were also invited to join the ceremony.
The pink piglet with a birthmark over his right eye is a positive fellow who has many dreams and tries hard despite repeated failures. His attitude towards life has inspired many children and young people in Hong Kong.
McDull movies include "My Life as McDull," "McDull, Prince de la Bun," "McDull, The Alumni" and "McDull, Kung Fu Kindergarten."
