(Ecsn.cn) – The scene of a "mermaid" in an overflowing bathtub recently attracted crowds to a bustling market in Xiamen of coastal Fujian Province.
A picture of the mermaid uploaded to a microblog has been shared by thousands of web users.
In the picture, a girl with the tail of a fish lies with arms crossed in a bathtub at a small seafood stand.
The owner of the stand, surnamed Chen, said that some men had asked him if they could use his place for a photo shoot, which he agreed to.
Several days later the group returned with the girl and a bathtub. Chen says that the girl was wearing a mermaid-like costume and the group spent over half an hour shooting, which drew much attention from the public.
"It is not my advertisement," Chen said.
According to a microblog user, the group was shooting a scene from China's first still-image film, Dream Space.
