(Ecns.cn)--China's ranking as the world's largest consumer of bicycles was on display Saturday at an interesting and novel wedding in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
To make the wedding unique and environmentally-friendly, the bridegroom sent 130 bicycles to escort the bride from her home to their wedding ceremony.
At about 10:00 am August 20, the bicycle escort was spotted on the road, with Li Wangang, the bridegroom, riding hard in front and sometimes smiling at the passers-by. His bride-to-be Yang Xinyi sat on his bike, wearing a white wedding dress. The 130-bike fleet followed behind.
