(Ecns.cn)--In an industry increasingly dominated by e-books, mobile phones and internet reading, some shops in China still cater to those who love to read real books.
Equipped with a reading zone, a leisure area and a coffee shop, a recently-opened bookstore in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi Province, has become a new local favorite.
Located in the city's high-tech district, the Wanbook Store provides a comfortable atmosphere for readers. With beautiful paintings and spongy sofas scattered throughout, customers can skim through books, listen to slow music and enjoy a cup of coffee in a peaceful environment.
"It is quiet and relaxing here," said Wang Xin, a white collar employee who comes to the store almost every day. "I like to drink a cup of coffee and read books that I am not patient enough to read at home."
"We live in a high-speed society and the pressure on people is too great, so we are trying to offer a place for people to relax," said an employee of the bookstore.
Every weekend, the 100-square-meter store is filled with people, especially university students and youth, who read books and chat quietly.
