(Ecns.cn)--Recently, hiking has gained popularity amongst youngsters as a way to reduce pressure, explore beautiful scenic spots, as well as make friends with other hikers.
At the end of July, dozens of white-collar workers from the post-80s generation in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, trudged 30 kilometers in 10 hours at night.
"I am single and working under great pressure, sitting at my computer for eight hours every day. Hiking does not require many skills, and can help me release pressure and make new friends," explained a designer.
According to the organizer, the night hiking places high requirements on the participants' physique. "One hundred and twenty people had applied for this hike, but only 67 showed up, and then only 42 reached the destination."
Hiking is a quite simple and economical outdoor exercise. With merely a pair of sneakers, a bottle of water, and some snacks, anyone can be a hiker. People usually tramp along a selected route for a certain time. However, it can also be thought of as a game that challenges the participants physically and mentally.
