(Ecns.cn)--Several luminous objects were spotted Sunday night above a park in Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu Province, leading some people to suspect that they might be Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO), according to reports on Monday.
At 7:20 p.m. five flying objects appeared, swaying within a small space and flashing in the air for about 10 minutes. One of the objects soon disappeared, while the other four slowly moved along.
Emitting yellow, red, green and blue light, the objects attracted many residents who were having a walk after dinner.
"They were not UFOs, but kites equipped with LED lights," said Wang Sichao, a researcher from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, who reached the conclusion after studying the flying height, shape and route of the objects.
Generally speaking, a luminous kite can fly hundreds or even thousands of meters high, and when blown by the wind it will sway in the air, according to Wang.
Recently in Nanjing, Beijing and many other places, residents have become fond of flying LED kites in parks or large squares at night.
