(Ecns.cn)--It is hard to associate a student's seat placement in the classroom with an official of the People's Congress, a local legislative body, but it just happened.

On September 6, Liu Jianli, a senior official of the Standing Committee of the  People's Congress of Xiangcheng, a city in Henan Province, drove directly to an elementary school in the city to argue with the principle and teachers there.

He complained to the principle that his son's seat in the classroom, which was near the bottom, did not allow him to see clearly what was written on the blackboard and asked the teacher to change the seat.

But as students in the schools are mostly from families of government officials, and it is hard for the teacher to rearrange the seats without offending any officials, Liu was irritated about the result and said some dirty words to the school members.

Liu's actions were videotaped and uploaded to the Internet. Although he made some clarifications on the Internet saying that he did not say anything dirty, the negative impact brought Liu into an awkward situation.

The Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Xiangcheng organized an urgent meeting to discuss the issue and made a final decision to suspend Liu's position and give him a warning on September 9.

The video has been heatedly discussed by online users. Some say that the personal qualities of the official were poor and they supported the government's final decision. "The real problem behind this is that there is a lack of good educational resources. This needs more attention," said an expert on education.

If there are more good schools, the parents do not need to worry that their children cannot receive enough knowledge and quarrels will not happen, said the expert.
