(Ecns.cn)--A young lady rescued an unconscious beggar Monday morning in Beijing's Tongzhou District, by applying cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (C.P.R.) and artificial respiration.

A 43-second video shot by an onlooker reveals the fashionably dressed 20-year-old went to see if she could help the beggar who was prone on the ground, unresponsive, and ignored by other passers-by.

Kneeling down, the young woman checked the fellow's condition, compressed his chest for a while, and exhaled her breath into his mouth. In a short while the beggar finally regained consciousness.

According to a bystander, the lady vanished after making sure he was out of immediate danger, without calling for an ambulance. Mr. Wang, the witness who shot the video, commented that the lady did not look like she was putting on a show, which would be a motive for those who merely want kudos for being a Good Samaritan.

Though some women objected to a female trying to save a male and a stranger in this way, the young lady's actions generally won much praise from an admiring public.
