(Ecns.cn)--The first autobiography of famous Chinese director Zhang Yimou is scheduled to hit the market along with the debut of his latest movie "The Flowers of War" on December 16, according to the Chongqing Evening Post on Friday.
The book consists of over 130 photos either taken by Zhang or related to his life.
According to the book's publicist, it starts with Zhang's life in north China's Shanxi Province, where he worked in a local cotton mill. It then covers his family, his school life and the subsequent preparations for the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games.
Some of the pictures have already published, but some have never before been released to the public. However, the book does not go into Zhang's love life, said the publicist.
Though the book was not written by Zhang himself, its captions were dictated by him and not changed much. The first batch to be issued will number about 150,000 copies.
The publicist did not release the name of the book, which has been in preparation since 2010.
