A strong cold front has been sweeping across the northern and eastern parts of China since late Monday, bringing rainfall to many places, meteorological authorities said.

The meteorological authority in Zhejiang province released a strong wind warning Wednesday, saying that gales reaching levels 7 to 8 will sweep across the coastal area of the province, with that in some area to reach the levels 9 - 10.

Shipping boats are returning to shore to avoid the forthcoming windy weather.
