Divorcee reclaims Chinese nationality

A woman surnamed Li recently been granted Chinese nationality again after divorcing her foreign husband who she discovered was already married to another woman, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

Li, who is in her 50s, relinquished her Beijing residence permit and Chinese nationality after moving abroad with her ex-husband. But after discovering overseas that he already had another wife, Li divorced the man and returned to China with her foreign passport and a visa. Upon her visa expiring, Li applied to regain Chinese nationality via an online platform hosted by the Beijing Public Security Bureau. Her application was approved.
