Cambodian army chief visits China to promote friendly relations

Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Gen. Pol Saroeun left here Sunday for a five-day visit to China to bolster ties and cooperation between the two countries.

The army chief was accompanied by senior military officials from the Army Headquarters, the Navy, the Air Force, and the National Military Police, totaling 14 members.

The tour is part of the exchange of visits between senior military officials with an aim to further enhance ties and cooperation. In May, Xu Qiliang, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission, visited Cambodia and both sides pledged to further develop bilateral ties and cooperation for mutual benefits.
