Hong Kong's Independent Commission against Corruption has announced that they have completed a three-year investigation against former Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen over corruption charges.

The commission says it will decide later whether or not charges will be filed.

The former Chief Executive of Hong Kong was accused of accepting junket trips from Macau on private jets and luxury yachts in 2012.

He was also reported to have rented a penthouse in Shenzhen from East Pacific chairman Bill Wong Cho-bau when the Executive Council was weighing the merits of a radio license for Digital Broadcasting Corp, in which Wong was a principal investor.

The authority decided to investigate Tsang later that same year.

This is the first case in 38 years wherein the Commission has investigated a corruption case involving a chief executive.

The Macau trip in question took place on February 18 and 19, 2012. Tsang and other tycoons were photographed at a banquet at a casino-resort with about 800 guests.

Public outcry later forced Tsang to break the lease in Shenzhen.
