Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with Mongolian Foreign Minister Lundeg Purevsuren on Wednesday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Li said the Chinese government attaches great importance to ties with Mongolia and regards the China-Mongolia relationship as an important part of China's neighborhood diplomacy.
He expressed hope that the two sides will work together to implement the consensus reached between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, maintain high-level interactions, enhance trust, and boost reciprocal cooperation to advance their partnership in a sustained way.
Purevsuren said that developing ties with China is foremost in Mongolia's foreign policy priorities and that Mongolia will link its own policy with the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Initiatives proposed by the Chinese side.
Purevsuren is paying an official visit to China from Tuesday to Friday at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
