An embroidery fair in Bijie, in Southwest China's Guizhou province, gathers artisans from the Miao ethnic group to show-off the best of their colorful embroidery, one of the province's specialties.
More than 100 skillful Miao embroiderers have brought their creations to the fair. Everything from costumes, headwear, jewelry and even articles for daily use are adorned with elegant figures and designs.
And every year, one of the participants wins an award for the best embroidery. The Miao craft dates all the way back to the Tang dynasty. It is known for its artistry and is an important component of Miao culture and China's heritage.
