A Canadian tourist has been sued for compensation after she accidentally knocked down an elderly Chinese woman who later died when visiting the Great Wall in Beijing.
The Huairou District People's Court in Beijing is handling the compensation lawsuit filed by the dead woman's family members, said the Beijing High People's Court.
On April 8, the 38-year-old Canadian national hit a 73-year-old Chinese woman surnamed Cui as she climbed down a stretch of the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Cui's head hit the wall when she fell down and she died from her injuries.
Beijing police said it was accidental following an investigation.
