The record global sales of Chinese President Xi Jinping's book on governance are a convincing proof that the Chinese Dream, as well as the country's remarkable achievements over the past decades, has attracted attention from across the world.

With more than 4 million copies sold worldwide, including 400,000 copies overseas, the book, titled "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China," has set a new international circulation record among works written by Chinese leaders since the country's drive of reform and opening up more than 30 years ago.

After its debut in Frankfurt, Germany, last October, the book has become increasingly popular and received enthusiastic responses both at home and abroad.

More than 400 articles have been published by global media, including Western mainstream media, to introduce or comment on the book, saying it outlines the Chinese Dream based on far-reaching reforms, which in turn promote the country's economic development.

There are good reasons for the book to get such huge attention. Firstly, it contains the profound thoughts of Xi, who put forward the Chinese Dream -- to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.` Secondly, the world is so curious about how the Communist Party of China with 86 million members leads the world's most populous country to realize the dream.

After more than 30 years of rapid development, China has become the world's second largest economy and entered a new era marked by resolute and well-planned reforms, iron-handed anti-corruption efforts, and more active diplomatic policies.

Just as foreign experts and media said, China's reform has gone "beyond expectations" and provided an institutional guarantee and advantages for the country's sustainable development.

The book, in a timely manner, has offered a deeper insight into the concepts and principles of governance held by China's new leadership.

Xi's new ideas and assessments in the book have answered both theoretical and practical questions about China's development in a new phase of the country's history.

Moreover, the book presents the collective wisdom of the Chinese leadership in dealing with domestic and external issues, making it an important window for the world to view and understand contemporary China and its development.

In fact, the Chinese leadership has made institutional arrangements and plans for many fields, aiming to not only achieve the goal of building an "all-round well-off society" by 2020, but also ensure the country's lasting stability.

From the book, the international community has learned that Chinese leaders have adopted a new reform model featuring clear top-level designs and the determination to overcome vested interests.

The leadership is also characterized by its quickness in adapting to changes, especially those in economic development, as evidenced by the adoption of the "new normal" for the Chinese economy.

The book's record circulation also reflects Xi's charisma and popularity with the public.

Thanks to his experiences of working in the countryside and at different posts, he has a deep understanding about the real situation in the grassroots and people's expectations, and always shows a strong determination when analyzing and considering how to best handle China's domestic and external issues.

The Chinese leadership's governance theories and strategies are not only paramount to the country's future development, but can shed significant light on how the global community as a whole should be governed in the new century and beyond.
