Top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un on Saturday said revolutionary spirit is far more powerful than nuclear weapon when climbing Mt. Paektu with fighter pilots, the state media reported.
"Climbing Mt. Paektu provides precious mental pabulum more powerful than any kind of nuclear weapon and it is the way for carrying forward the revolutionary traditions of Paektu," Kim said. The pilots had just finished a one-week expedition around the mountain, a sacred revolutionary site for the country.
One day earlier, Kim took part in an oath-taking meeting for the pilots in the compound of the Samjiyon Grand Monument and stressed the importance of revolutionary traditions and told the pilots that revolutionary faith is most precious and serves the decisive factor for victory, according to the official KCNA news agency.
"It is the fixed resolution and will of the Workers' Party of Korea to defend the revolutionary traditions and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche in the revolutionary spirit of Paektu," he said.
He also indicated the tasks for a turn in rounding off combat readiness of the air and air defense forces and strengthening combat capabilities.
Kim had a photo session on the top of the mountain with the pilots who were ordered by him to start the expedition around the battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu on April 11.
