The Indonesian Foreign Ministry says 33 heads of state, as well as representatives from 77 countries will attend. Ministers from Asian and African countries met on Monday, pledging to implement the Bandung Spirit, which highlights cooperation among southern countries. Discussions touched on trade ties, anti-terrorism cooperation, and the Palestinian issue. Ministers also worked out a six-point agenda for the upcoming events.
"We want to see a stable, democratic and prosperous Asia-Africa. We want to see Asia-Africa that respect human rights. And we want to see equality in Asia-Africa and in the world. Growing together is a must, let us make south-south cooperation and triangular cooperation as a means to grow and develop together," Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said.
