Laboratories in China and the United Kingdom have jointly launched a project to provide high quality antennas essential for the country's improvement of satellite communication technology.
The project, installed by the National Physical Laboratory of the UK at the National Institute of Metrology (NIM) in China, will help improve national microwave measurement standards, Wu Fan, director of the division of electronics and information technology under the NIM, told a symposium on Thursday.
Installed after more than two years of design, construction and installation, the project will help improve China's satellite communication and remote sensing technologies, he said.
Kamal Hossain, international director of the National Physical Laboratory, said his lab looks forward to building a long-term partnership with the NIM in emerging areas of measurement services, and cooperation between the two sides has been a huge success.
