China and South Korea will start maritime delimitation negotiations this year, a senior official from China's foreign ministry said Monday in Beijing.
China and South Korea launched a preparatory meeting in Shanghai for maritime delimitation negotiations in January to deal with boundary delimitation in the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea.
To promote security cooperation between China, Japan and South Korea, they need to enhance communication and manage and control disparities in territory and maritime disputes, said Kong Xuanyou, an official of Asian Affairs at the foreign ministry in a conference in Beijing.
