Two landslides in northwest China's Gansu Province on Wednesday morning have cut the water supply for more than 7,000 residents, local authorities said on Thursday.
The landslides occurred in Yanguoxia Township, Yongjing County. No casualties were reported, as authorities evacuated 450 people at risk before the landslide.
The landslides also disrupted traffic for more than 5,000 people and cut the power supply of Yanguoxia Township. The direct economic losses are estimated at 56.5 million yuan (about 9.11 million U.S.dollars), according to the county government.
Further disaster relief work is underway.
