New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully will head to China this week for talks on a range of issues.
McCully said Thursday that he meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss regional cooperation, trade and economic matters, and issues currently before the United Nations Security Council.
He would also visit Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, where he would open the new premises of the New Zealand Consulate General.
"New Zealand has a growing trade and economic relationship with the province of Guangdong, and this new office reflects the New Zealand government's long-term commitment to southern China," McCully said in a statement.
