Italian airline company Alitalia on Friday launched a direct route between Milan and Chinese megacity Shanghai, in an effort to attract more Chinese tourists to the 2015 expo.
The Airbus 330 aircraft, which has 250 seats, will fly three round-trips each week between the two cities.
The Milan Expo 2015 kicked off on Friday, and will last until the end of October. Italian embassy in Beijing has shorten the visa processing time for Chinese tourists to attract more people to the Expo.
