A total of 57 foreign nationals have been confirmed dead in Nepal's massive earthquake that has already killed more than 7,000 people in the Himalayan country, authorities said on Monday.[Special coverage]
According to Tourist Information Center under Department of Tourism, 57 tourists have been killed till Monday, including 32 males and 25 females.
These foreigners have been killed in the 7.9-magnitude quake in Mount Everest base camp, Khumbu and Langtang regions among others.
"There might be different death tolls released by embassies based on own information, but our data is based on the deaths reported in Nepal Tourist Police," Sarad Pradhan, media consultant of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), told Xinhua,
Some 52 foreign nationals were injured in the quake and 109 foreigners were still unaccounted for.
According to the NTB, three Chinese have been killed and nine are still missing since the disaster on April 25.
"The toll might get higher as we are in the process of collecting more reports," Pradhan added.
