The Chinese team, composed of Yu Zhiying, Song Ronghui and Rui Naiwei, tasted their second straight win after upsetting South Korea 2-1 at the 4th World Women's Team Go Championship in Taizhou on Saturday.

The match between China and South Korea grabbed much spotlight as they were titleholders of the past three years. South Korea claimed the title at the inaugural and second edition.

Last year's champion team member Yu lost to Choi Jeong at Table 1, but Song and Rui downed Kim Hye Min and Park Ji Yun respectively.

Chinese Taipei suffered their second straight loss after losing to Japan 3-0.

Chinese Taipei's Table 1 player Joanne Missingham was sidelined due to acute gastroenteritis. Although she insisted that she would play if possible, she could not manage to appear within 15 minutes after the match began.

China will face Chinese Taipei on Sunday in a round-robin format. South Korea will meet Japan in another encounter.
