As the center of business, politics and culture, Beijing has long been the popular target for international hospitality brands. These brands are usually competing for a location that is closer to the city center in return for better revenues, but these days, looking for locations that are further away among hotels is the new trend.
Located on the north end of Fifth Ring Road in Chaoyang district, about 45 minutes by car from Tiananmen Square in good traffic, Hotel Maximilian Beijing offers guests cleaner air, fewer traffic jams and crowds, and a shortcut to the Beijing Capital International Airport.
The hotel officially opened in March as the first in China of the German brand Hotel Maximilian.
Hotel Maximilian Beijing is made up of three buildings: the Audi Training Center - the first of its kind in China - with a four-star hotel inside, a five-star hotel, and a typical German beer restaurant.
German culture comes through in several aspects of the hotel, from the management teams and the German beer restaurant to the ingredients imported directly from Germany for the hotel meals. Currently, they are pushing traditional European hotel standards by bringing in more foreign employees whose mother tongue is German to teach Chinese staff the German hotel culture.
