As in the year before, Chinese actress Fan Bingbing kept up her lead on the 2015 Forbes China Celebrity 100 list with singer-songwriter Jay Chou and actor Nicholas Tse coming in second and third respectively.
But more remarkable is the meteoric rise of young Chinese idol Lu Han to the list, a symbol of a new force in Chinese entertainment circles, ranked 37th .
He is the first post-90s celebrity to make the Celebrity 100 list.
Moreover, it only took him five months to make it onto the list.
Lu debuted as a member of the South Korean-Chinese boy band EXO in 2012. After terminating his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment for unfair treatment, he has pioneered his own career in music and film since October 2014.
As of August 5, 2014, Lu Han has become the Guinness World Record holder for the "Most Comments on a Sina Weibo Post".
The annual Forbes China Celebrity 100 list ranks the most influential entertainment and sports celebrities from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The list is based on income and exposure rate in magazines, newspapers, TV shows as well as online.
