A total of 150 suspects have been returned to China from overseas since "Fox hunt 2015" began in April, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) said Thursday.
The MPS said the suspects were found in 32 countries and regions. Eight had been overseas for over 10 years.
Perhaps the best known among them is Dai Xuemin, the first to be captured from the list of 100 fugitives issued in late April.
Before escaping overseas 14 years ago, Dai was the manager of a securities broker in Shanghai. He was suspected of embezzlement and fled. Police captured Dai on April 25 in China after he sneaked back using a foreign passport.
"Fox hunt 2015" is part of the "Skynet" operation and targets economic crime suspects, many of them corrupt officials of government departments and state-owned enterprises.
