Beijing authorities announced they have identified 408 stations for rabies vaccinations in the city, and the names of those stations were released on the official website of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture (BMBA), the Beijing Times reported.
Every year there are about 60,000 to 70,000 deaths from rabies in the world. In Beijing, more than 50 people have died from rabies since 2005. An official with BMBA said they issue immune identification certificates every year to ensure Beijing's dog population can stay protected from the disease.
The number of registered dogs in Beijing has reached nearly 1 million.
