A viral video showing a Chongqing policeman singing to comfort a mentally ill woman who had become lost has touched hearts on social media.
Officer Liang Tao became an Internet sensation after CCTV footage of his two-hour performance was released by Fengdu county police on Sina Weibo.
In the video, Liang sings his heart out at the police station while seated next to the middle-aged woman, later identified as Wang from Changtian village.
Liang told the Chongqing Morning Post that he found a confused Wang around 9 p.m. on May 9.
Though she was laughing, she could not say her address and did not have ID.
After arriving at the police station, Wang became visibly nervous and began walking about, read the report.
But it was when she attempted to leave that Liang cleverly coaxed her back by singing to music played on his phone.
The video shows Wang begin to clap along and laugh. She later offers to sing three songs she knows for Liang.
Net users praised Liang for his kindness and patience with the disabled woman.
"When I first watched this video, I found it hilarious at first, but then I felt touched," wrote a Sina Weibo user.
