The death toll in a gas leak that happened at a coal mine on Saturday in central China's Hunan Province has risen to eight, rescuers said Tuesday.
The last body was recovered on Tuesday morning as the three-day rescue ended.
The accident occurred at about 2:10 a.m. Saturday in the city of Shaoyang, when 11 people were working in the mine. Three of them returned to the ground safely.
The accident is still under investigation.
