Severe rain storms across Guizhou Province, south China, have left five people dead and three others missing, the provincial civil affairs department said on Monday.
Non-stop, heavy rain has battered the province for six-consecutive days, affecting more than 120,000 people and damaging 7,900 houses, the civil affairs department said.
About 7,600 people have been evacuated and 4,700 people needed living assistance from the state, the department said.
The provincial government has allocated 2 million yuan (320,000 U.S. dollars) to disaster relief efforts.
