Chinese movie stars Zhao Wei, Huang Xiaoming and Chinese-American director Justin Lin on Wednesday sink their hands and feet into cement in the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California.
"This is a great opportunity to showcase the synergy that now exists between China and Hollywood, two important partners, both creatively and commercially, in the making and distribution of movies worldwide," said Alwyn Hight Kushner, president of the TCL Chinese Theater which celebrated its 88th birthday with an imprint ceremony on Wednesday.
Accompanied by Vin Diesel and other stars in "Fast and Furious" series, director Justin Lin thanked all of his families, friends and partners over the past years.
He also praised Zhao and Huang for being not only Chinese stars, but stars in the world.
Zhao cooperated with Lin for the latest film "Hollywood Adventures" last year, which will be released in China in June.
"I am very proud to be the first ever Chinese actress to leave my handprint and footprint here and I hope in the future I could come here and look at my own hand and feet prints every year," Zhao said.
Huang, a 37-year-old Chinese actor, played lead in the popular TV series "Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty" in 2001. He began focusing on his film career in 2007.
Over last decade, he has won numerous awards as the Best Actor at Golden Rooster Awards, Hundred Flowers Awards, and Asian Film Awards.
He thanked movies for giving him dreams. "It's an amazing adventure for us to be here. I feel very lucky to be the first actor from the Chinese mainland who leaves handprint here," he said.
"In 88 years of history of the TCL Chinese Theater handprint ceremony, there have been 175 honorees. Among them 21 are from non-English speaking world and there had been three Chinese honorees," said Bruno Zheng Wu (Wu Zheng), chairman of Sun Seven Stars Entertainment and Media Group.
