Sixteen officials in south China's Guangdong Province have been punished for playing golf.
The Guangdong provincial discipline watchdog said on Thursday some of the officials played golf during working hours, some used taxpayers' money, and some asked business partners to pay for the fees.
"All departments must uphold Party discipline in daily management and tighten supervision of issues as small as playing golf," said the chief of Guangdong provincial discipline inspection commission.
As well as running a major campaign against corruption, discipline watchdogs across China have been on a drive against unprofessional behavior.
In April, two officials were given public reprimands for having breakfast during working hours in the island province of Hainan while one official in east China's Zhejiang Province was suspended after being found swimming, naked, at a time when he was supposed to be in the office.
