Former Jiangsu Sainty player Sun Ke has signed a five-year deal with Tianjin Teda on Thursday with his transfer fee reaching a reported record--setting 66 million yuan ($10.63 million).
Chinese international Sun, who had played for Jiangsu since 2006, rose to fame at the Asian Cup earlier this year, scoring three goals in four games. His transfer fee is the largest-ever paid for a domestic Chinese player.
Tianjin and Jiangsu are tied on 19 points in the 16-team top-flight Chinese Super League after 13 rounds. Tianjin are one place ahead in fifth due as their reserve team has had better results than Jiangsu's.
