The death toll from a road accident involving a bus and truck on an expressway in Anhui Province, east China, has risen to 12, with 22 others injured, said government sources Friday.
The Anhui-registered bus overturned after colliding with a freight truck from Jiangxi Province, in Wuhu City at 2:50 p.m. Friday.
Ten people died at the scene and two critically injured died despite doctors' efforts to save them.
Of the 22 injured, one is in a serious condition. They have all been sent to hospital.
Top provincial officials have urged all-out efforts to treat the injured and to find out the cause of the accident.
