Former Corinthian midfielder Jucilei Da Silva has joined Shandong Luneng FC, the Chinese Super League (CSL) club announced on Sunday.
Luneng did not reveal details about Jucilei's transfer from Al Jazira of the UAE, but there are rumors that Jucilei has signed for a four-year contract.
The 27-year-old Jucilei, who has dual Brazilian-Pakistani nationality, is considered the best defensive midfielder in Asian leagues.
He is the latest Brazilian signing for Luneng, following head coach Cuca and players Aloisio, Urso and Tardelli. According to CSL regulations, Jucilei will be eligible to play for Luneng as an Asian player.
Jucilei started his professional career at Malucelli prior to a move to Corinthians in 2009. In 2010, he earned his first call-up to the Brazil national team by his former Corinthians coach Mano Menezes.
In early 2011, Russian powerhouse Anzhi Makhachkala signed Jucilei for 10 million Euros. He joined Al Jazira in early 2014.
