An official from the Republic of Korea (ROK) has died after falling from a hotel in northeast China early Sunday morning, local authorities said.
The police in Ji'an City, Jilin Province, received the report at 3:13 a.m. according to the city's publicity office.
Investigation shows that the dead was Choi Doo Yeong, president of Local Government Officials Development Institute of the ROK. Choi came to China with Chung Chae-gun, vice minister with the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs, to deal with a bus crash that killed 10 ROK nationals.
A bus, carrying 26 ROK tourists and a Chinese tour guide, fell off a bridge on Wednesday afternoon in Jilin. Eleven people, including 10 ROK passengers and the Chinese driver, were killed. The injured are still receiving treatment.
