Southeast China is on typhoon alert. Weather authorities say two approaching cyclones may bring gales and rainstorms to the coast.
The National Meteorological Center says three typhoons -- Chan-hom, Linfa and Nangka -- have formed on the northwest Pacific. Chan-hom and Linfa will affect China in the coming days.
Chan-hom is expected to enter the eastern waters of the East China Sea Thursday evening, and hit the eastern coastal areas around Friday. Zhejiang Province, Fujian Province and Shanghai have been told to prepare.
Linfa is approaching the southern coastal areas of Taiwan. Rainstorms are predicted there today.
