Taiwan school operator Tsai Hsing has signed an agreement to purchase a kindergarten in Kunshan City in eastern province of Jiangsu, paving the way to introduce Taiwan private education to the Chinese mainland.
The purchase was confirmed by the Kunshan municipal government on Tuesday. The new school Tsai Hsing Xingkong Kindergarten will start recruitment in September.
Hai Yen Hau, chairman of the Tsai Hsing Global Education Investments Limited, said Tsai Hsing plans to set up another kindergarten in Kunshan and will found a primary school, a junior high school and a senior high school in the city.
"Kunshan has a large number Taiwanese-founded enterprises. The city has provided a sound environment for overseas investors," Hau said when explaining why Tsai Hsing made the city its first step in the mainland.
