Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Liu Yunshan has called for promoting education campaign of improving officials' conduct amid efforts to boost reform and development.
Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during an inspection tour in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from Thursday to Saturday.
The authorities are promoting "three stricts and three earnests", a series of requirements for officials to improve their lifestyle and work. The campaign calls on members to be strict in morals, power and discipline; and honest in decisions, business and behavior.
The campaign aims at inspiring officials to overcome difficulties in advancing reform, promoting economic development and improving people's livelihood, Liu said.
Whether the campaign is successful or not can only be tested in practice and judged by the people, he said.
He urged Party's grassroots organizations to enhance their political leadership in local affairs, boost development and better serve the people.
Supervision should be strengthened on decision-making, village affairs and the use of resources and capital of villages, he said.
