China's Che Xiaoxi defeated her teammate Jiang Yue 4-1 (11-8, 7-11, 11-6, 11-5, 11-9) to win the women's singles table tennis at the 2015 Gwangju Summer University Games on Monday.
Yang Ha Eun of South Korea and Szocs Bernadette Cynthia of Romania shared the third place.
In the men's singles, Morizono Masataka of Japan also beat his teammate Oshima Yuya 4-1 (11-9, 11-9, 7-11, 11-7, 11-9) to win the gold, while Liu Yi of China and Lee Sang Su of South Korea both placed third.
China topped the Universiade table tennis medal table with four golds, one silver and two bronzes, followed by Japan and Chinese Taipei both with 1-3-2. South Korea settled for the fourth place with 1-0-5.
