Only seven days left before Microsoft launching the Windows 10 device, the first "all-new" operating system in three years.
Microsoft clarified that Windows 10 is an operating system optimized for personal computers, tablets and phones, skipping the name Windows 9 entirely.
Why the Microsoft operating system after Windows 8 wasn't called Windows 9? Terry Myerson, the Microsoft's Executive Vice President of the windows and devices group gave his explanation.
"We're at a point where we carry forward all that's good in Windows and step across into a new way of doing things – a new Windows. Because we're not building an incremental Windows, the new Windows is Windows 10," Myerson said.
According to Microsoft, new PCs of Dell, HP, Lenovo and Acer with the updated Windows 10 OS will be on the store shaves on July 29. Current Windows 7 and 8.1 users can enjoy one-year free upgrade offer. If they miss the offer and buy a new license , 119 U.S dollars or 99 GBP or 135 euros will be charged.
Windows 10 will provide a "life-time" support with updates, features and security patches, therefore, there is probably no need to bring out Windows 11, according to the company.
