Authorities in southwest China's Yunnan Province closed down a nursery after a suspected food poisoning incident left seven preschoolers in the hospital on Friday.
The preschoolers at Shaying Nursery in Gugan Village of Fuyuan County suffered stomachaches and vomiting after eating rice noodles boiled with Chinese cabbage for lunch at school on Thursday afternoon, the county government's press office said in a press release Friday.
Fearing of mass food poisoning, management of the nursery organized a health check for all 83 children at the village clinic, it said.
As of midday Friday, all the ailing children have recovered and were discharged from hospital, the document said.
Samples of the nursery's three meals have been sent for lab work at the county's food and drug authorities, it said.
The nursery was temporarily closed Friday for a hygiene revamp, and authorities have yet to decide whether it can reopen.
