A U.S. flight safely returned to Beijing, where it took off from, after the plane's head was damaged by hail during flight on Monday, July 27, 2015.
Flight AA88 took off from Beijing Capital International Airport at 16:43 and landed at 17:30.
It is the second incident when a US airplane is hit by hail in China's airspace recently.
Rumor had been circulating on the Internet earlier that the plane was struck by a bird.
