According to a Friday report by the Beijing Times, among the new measures the Beijing Exit-Entry Administration of the Municipal Public Security Bureau is implementing to make things more convenient for applicants, starting from Saturday the time it takes to process entry and exit documents for people without a Beijing hukou (household registration) will be reduced from 30 working days to 10.
Meanwhile, the time to process foreigners' residence permits will be reduced to 10 working days from the previous 15. In order to attract foreign talents, qualified foreigners can now receive F or R visa or residence permits valid for two to five years as opposed to the previous one year.
