The Chinese government plans to offer humanitarian aid to Tajikistan, which has been hit by floods and mudslides in recent weeks.
An official of the Ministry of Commerce's (MOC) foreign assistance department announced the 10-million-yuan (1.63 million U.S. dollars) material assistance package on Wednesday.
The MOC will implement the aid as soon as possible and provide continuous support, the official said.
The natural disasters are due to mass glacial melt from high temperatures. Besides casualties, they have caused heavy property damage and cut electricity access to the affected areas.
