An inmate was captured less than a day after his escape from a juvenile prison in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, the provincial bureau of prison administration said on Sunday.
Following a manhunt, police and paramilitary police officers captured the 20-year-old inmate, Zhang Yunming, at about 4:40 p.m. Sunday, officials with the bureau said. Zhang scaled the prison wall and escaped around 8 p.m. Saturday.
Zhang was sentenced to nine years in prison for robbery by a court in Shuangyashan City on Mar. 20, 2012. He began serving his sentence in July 2012 at the juvenile prison.
The case is under investigation.
