The new Party chief of Hebei Province stressed that members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and officials should be loyal to the Party and must not talk about the Party in a reckless fashion, local media reported Tuesday.
Zhao Kezhi, the newly appointed Party chief of Hebei, stressed during a field investigation last weekend in Tangshan, Hebei Province that liberalism was not acceptable among Party members, who should not recklessly discuss [decisions made by] the CPC Central Committee and should not spread words against the Central Committee and the provincial Party committee, the Hebei Daily reported Tuesday.
Zhao was appointed Party chief of Hebei Province on July 31. His predecessor Zhou Benshun was placed under investigation for suspected "severe violation of discipline and the law," the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said on July 24.
"[Party members] should work with empathy and responsibility, and make sure that they act in accordance with the CPC Central Committee under the leadership of President Xi Jinping," said Zhao, adding that the authority of the Party should be maintained with determination and resolution.
Wrong thoughts and opinions should be seriously criticized and rectified with a clear-cut stance, said Zhao.
Zhou Benshun worked under the CPC Political and Legal Affairs Commission from 2003 to 2013, which overlapped with the tenure of the disgraced former Political and Legal Affairs Commission leader Zhou Yongkang (2002-2012).
Zhou Yongkang was put under investigation in 2012. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in June for bribery, abuse of power and leaking State secrets.
